Destruction of long-range antiferromagnetic order by hole doping
We study the renormalization of the staggered magnetization of a twodimensional antiferromagnet as a function of hole doping, in the framework of the t-J model. It is shown that the motion of holes generates decay of spin waves into ”particle-hole” pairs, which causes the destruction of the long-range magnetic order at a small hole concentration. This effect is mainly determined by the coherent...
متن کامل1/N expansion and long range antiferromagnetic order.
The staggered magnetization of the Heisenberg antiferromagnet in two dimensions can be systematically approximated by a 1/N expansion. Cancellation between self energy diagrams leads to a Luttingerlike theorem for the ground state. We prove (for a smooth enough self energy) that the long range order of mean field theory (N=∞) survives corrections to all orders of 1/N . Divergences of this serie...
متن کاملDestruction of Neel Order in the Cuprates by Electron-Doping
Motivated by the evidence1,2,3,4,5,6 in Pr2−xCexCuO4−y and Nd2−xCexCuO4−y of a magnetic quantum critical point at which Néel order is destroyed, we study the evolution with doping of the T = 0 quantum phases of the electron doped cuprates. At low doping, there is a metallic Néel state with small electron Fermi pockets, and this yields a fully gapped dx2−y2 superconductor with co-existing Néel o...
متن کاملStrong-Coupling Gauge Theory of Nodal Spinons and Antiferromagnetic Long-Range Order
In this paper we shall study a gauge theory of nodal spinons which appears as a low-energy effective theory for antiferromagnetic (AF) Heisenberg models. In most of studies on the nodal spinons given so far, the gauge interaction between spinons was assumed weak and nonperturbative effects like instantons and vortices were ignored. In the present paper, we shall study strong-coupling gauge theo...
